Every refill replaces packaging, which becomes packaging waste: the boxes, containers, and shipping materials in which new products are sold. Fullfill estimates the weight of packaging waste avoided based on the total refill weight. First, we convert the total refill weight (oz) to a total refill volume (fl oz). Next, we get the number of 24 fl oz dish soap bottles replaced by dividing the total refilled volume (fl oz) by 24 fl oz. Finally, we multiply the number of 24 fl oz bottles replaced by the weight of one of these empty bottles to obtain the total packaging weight avoided.

Through August 2026, Fullfill customers have collectively displaced over 30 24-fl oz bottles, or over 3 lb of packaging waste! Every pound of packaging waste avoided contributes to Seattle's waste prevention goals. Read more about that here!
